At Adult Literacy Palmerston North (ALPN) we are passionate about learning, passionate about teaching too! Because of this, we offer those who can come to visit us either individual or small group tuition for -

• Literacy - reading and writing English for pleasure or for business.
• Numeracy - basic skills in handling and understanding numbers for personal or business use.
• "Computeracy" - a word we have invented to refer to basic skills in using popular personal computer software!

We provide these services at no direct cost to the individual learner.

We also try to ensure that every prospective student receives the tuition which will best satisfy the needs which they discuss at a preliminary interview before enrolment.

• Tutors & Tutoring - Those of you looking for some absolutely thrilling part-time volunteer work as tutors need only check out this section in which we advertise for particular needs for new tutors - and also provide a link to a private resource section for our tutors - and others who may want to try things out themselves.
• Sponsors & Donors - this is the section where we acknowledge with grateful thanks those individuals and organisations who have provided major funding to enable us to continue to provide our service to the community.
• Contract Tuition - We are always open to suggestion from commercial firms or other organisations who wish to improve the skills of their staff and clients for special courses; whether one-to-one or small group tuition. While we never charge a student we nevertheless charge organisations wishing to use our services for producing special courses of this kind - very reasonable charges we think!
• Other Providers - ALPN is by no means the only organisation which aims to help adults to improve themselves.
