There are several organisations which either themselves provide services direct to adult learners or provide a useful directory of such services. Some of these are directed to adult speakers of English as a first language or with a reasonable understanding of English, while other are directed to teaching immigrants the English Language. The three principal points of primary contact within New Zealand are given below.
New Zealand Literacy Portal
This is the name of a national web site which may also be contacted by e-mail at info@nzliteracyportal.org.nz. The portal claims to provide links to almost any organisation and any kinds of literacy services for adults which might be available in this country. It is continually updated as changes occur and is an excellent resource for those who have access to the World Wide Web.
