No teaching can be truly successful without there being suitable student exercises against which they can test themselves. On this site there is a growing collection of exercises of all kinds which tutors might find of use. The exercises linked to from the two buttons above have been developed (and are still being developed) by ALPN over a number of years in two principal groups -
- Literacy exercises for use at various stages of learning to read and write. These concentrate on helping to improve the students' ability to find the correct word for some given sentence, situation and context.
- Numeracy exercises are provided covering all forms of arithmetic (excepting number theory), elementary algebra and a growing collection of 'problems' - defined as real life situations in which simple mathematical skills are required in arriving at an answer.
Anyone who has developed their own resources of these general kinds which they may wish to share with us, are warmly invited to contact us using the e-mail link below.
