We continue to be amazed at the number of occasions where an article or report is otherwise well-written, to be let down by just one sentence! We have no idea what causes these lapses - whether by the author, the proof-reader or the sub-editor - they just keep occurring. We just keep collecting them as examples to help students read critically and, perhaps, show them what not to do!
As with the headings examples, the links here are to plain text documents containing a dozen faulty sentences each - some obvious, some not so obvious!
These are designed for printing out and/or direct editing by a student in his own computer - perhaps as a homework exercise in critical reading!
There is no particular order in this collection of links, we just randomize from time to time to mix sources and dates of discovery in individual text files.

Some of these examples can be 'recovered' with careful editing; others need a complete re-write. Note that, where more than one error has occurred in one sentence, attempting to fix the first can bring up additional errors which then need fixing too!
